Barbara Zamora Väätäjä
Founder & CEO
Drawing on her extensive finance background, Barbara, residing in multilingual Tokyo and facing the arrival of her newborn, felt a personal need to understand optimal early childhood education, particularly regarding multilingual development and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
This curiosity led her to thoroughly research various early education systems and the science of how children learn, ultimately discovering the compelling play-based educational model prevalent in Finland, her husband's native country.
Driven by the desire to provide her son with a world-class, low-pressure early education without the need for relocation, Barbara collaborated with Finnish educators to establish Moomin International Kindergarten in Tokyo, a distinctive center meticulously modeled after Finland's respected national system.
