Moomin International Kindergarten
Welcome to Moomin International Kindergarten,Tokyo's first early childhood education center (ECEC) modelled on Finnish play-based early childhood education practices encouraging children to explore, attempt, make mistakes and learn from them. Our children become curious life long learners and out of the box thinkers, confident to look beyond the obvious, ideate, communicate and innovate with a global perspective.
Our innovative curriculum is experiential, interactive, and playful with a Project-based approach that is fun and meaningful, values children, nurtures and engages the entire body and senses so children enjoy the process of acquiring knowledge, seek more engagement, and increase their desire and confidence to always seek and retain more.
Our nurturing educators offer experiences in stimulating and adaptive learning environments that allow children to develop a deep sense of appreciation for themselves, the world around them and for learning without limits. We value each child for their uniqueness and support them to not only achieve but also to acquire the tools to be confident in any social and emotional environment. Our educators adapt the curriculum to fulfil every child's individual needs to thrive and build a strong foundation for Primary School and for a lifetime of learning.

Learning Through play:
We are a play-based kindergarten where childhood is celebrated and revered.
Children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. We believe in providing children everyday activities filled with excitement where children will find joyful adventures, discovery and playful exploration.
Our classrooms are equipped with learning materials that promote project based group learning and resources that encourage exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Teachers plan learning experiences around the interests and developmental needs of the children increasing their sense of self. Our learning environments extend to the outdoors in the natural world where activities are planned with intention, in order to encourage curiosity and experimentation and for children to find new interests, make discoveries, and form new ideas and understanding about themselves and the world.
Project Based Learning and Emotional Growth:
Our dynamic approach fosters multiple intelligences through playful projects. Each activity becomes an opportunity for children to develop key life competencies, become confident and self directed learners who are active contributors concerned for others, all while having fun in a flexible, engaging, and supportive setting.

We believe in providing individual attention to each child and fostering strong friendships with children and adults. With small class sizes, our educators can focus on the specific needs and strengths of every student, allowing for more active participation, individualised attention, better engagement and personalised support and guidance.
