Why focus on EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION?

Children's brains grow from 25% at birth to 80% by age 3 to 95% by age 6, when new connections are forming in the brain, making it a critical and optimal period for learning.

Early childhood refers to the period between birth and 6 years of age, time where children’s brain are highly sensitive to the environment around them. This time of “remarkable growth” requires a specialized educational approach to ensure that children learn key skills and foundational concepts to prepare them for later life.

The Early Development Integral Program is designed to enhance babies’, toddlers’ and young children’s abilities from an early age, when it matters most. Recent research demonstrates the innate ability of children to learn and the speed at which they learn in the first five years, surpasses that of any other time during our lifetime.

Our program is based on taking advantage of the child’s thirst for learning, how brains learn best, forward looking learning methods and our aim of guiding children to become lifelong learners, while playing and having the best time of their lives.

How do we do it?

Highly experienced educators get to know the child to grasp a deep understanding of the child and their strengths and challenges, in order to tailor personal emotional and instructional support. An individual child development plan is developed for each child and revised throughout the time at the kindergarten and until the child is ready for primary school. Children stay with the same educators for a minimum of 2 years, deepening the relationships and bonds and strengthening the educational outcomes. Educators give children ample time to explore, discover and develop their individual interests, and learn that learning is fun!

Our holistic early education program emphasizes strong relationships with educators and peers, exposure to growth- promoting experiences, and stimulating environments. Our hand-on projects are designed to entice children to be interested in world knowledge, be engaged, stay motivated, effectively learn multiple skills and fall in love with learning. The curriculum, developed by Finnish educators, cover all enhance children’s working memory, gain 21st Century skills and develop to their full potential.

EDUCARE

OUR HOLISTIC EDUCATION & CARE SYSTEM: THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Cognition

Through the use of different materials such as books, patterns, colors, mirrors, music, singing, different textures, smells, experiments, projects etc., children develop their visual processing and speed, focus on a task and ignore distractions, develop their intellectual capacity, strengthen neuro-connections and working memory, logic, mental flexibility and reasoning.

Fine and gross motor skills exercises

Through the use of a variety of equipment, games and exercises, these are oriented towards developing small and large muzzle strength so that the child is able to have great coordination and to move freely. They also enhance the child’s alertness, vitality and mood.

Emotional and Personal attention

Each child has his/her own way of being and individual qualities. Each child is provided with all the necessary elements and activities to adapt to the environment and learn how to interact with others and build relationships with educators, adults and other children. Babies have opportunities throughout the day to interact with toddlers and older children. This is a powerful opportunity to learn to imitate others just a little older!

Loving Care

Loving care is provided to each child by capable and committed educators with to goal to achieve independence, fairness, equality. Passionate educators support each child through napping, eating, staying clean (toilet training at 2yrs old) and being a happy child with a skill set for the future. Parents build strong partnerships with educators to support the child through his/her early development.

Language and auditive stimulation

Exposure to sounds and language through a variety of activities, children develop their own ability to communicate, explore and discover how things work. Children learn to recognize, process and analyze sounds. They also learn another language, Japanese or Spanish, which encourages flexible thinking, enhances memory, and boosts a child's concentration.

Did you know?

Theres is a wide range of research that support the importance of early stimulation for brain development.

1. Babies are learning all the time

Brains are built over time. At birth, 700 new neural connections are formed every second, then the number decreases through a process called pruning, so that brain circuits become more efficient. First come sensory-vision and hearing, then early language skills and higher cognitive functions. Early experiences determine whether the circuits are strong or weak.

3. Interactive experiences shape the developing brain

Babbling, gestures, facial expressions and adults responding to them with the same expressions. The absence of these can cause the brain’s architecture to not form as expected, which can lead to disparities in learning and behavior.

5. stress damages developing brain architecture

Stress can lead to life-long problems in learning, behavior, and physical and mental health. Stress becomes built into the body by processes that shape the architecture of the developing brain.

Examples of toxic stress can include maternal depression, any kind of abuse, shouting at the child, leaving the child alone or to cry, making a child feel bad for their behavior, and even having to do worksheet work too early. Children thrive when they feel safe and engaged. Caring adult’s happiness makes children feel safe and when the brain has a positive happy atmosphere, energy levels rise, intelligence rises, creativity rises.

2. THE BRAIN’S CAPACITY TO LEARN DECREASES WITH AGE

The brain is most flexible or “plastic” in the early years to accommodate a wide range of environments and interactions, but as it matures, it is less capable of reorganizing and adapting to new or unexpected challenges. Early plasticity means it’s easier and more effective to influence a baby’s developing brain architecture than to rewire parts of its circuitry in the adult years.

4. Cognitive, emotional, and social capacities are inseparably intertwined throughout life

The brain is an extremely interrelated organ, and its multiple functions operate incredibly well coordinated. Emotional well-being and social competence provide a strong foundation for emerging cognitive abilities, which are the foundation of human development. The emotional and physical health, social skills, and cognitive-linguistic capacities that emerge in the early years are all important prerequisites for success in school and later in the workplace and community.
